Job Description 

  • To provide a high standard of evidence based therapeutic care to babies, children and
    adolescents who present with a wide range of clinical presentations and conditions.
  • To work as part of the children’s physiotherapy team to provide assessment, treatment and
    therapy advice to children with physical disabilities and complex special needs in a variety of
    settings.
  • To be responsible for the autonomous management of a designated caseload.
  • To work with all disciplines and agencies involved with the child and family.
  • To participate in continual professional development, clinical audit and service development within specialist area.

Requirements

To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work.To provide a physiotherapy service to a designated caseload, as directed by a senior physiotherapist. To undertake a comprehensive assessment of children referred for physiotherapy, including those with a complex presentation, using a range of clinical skills. To interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical information in order to establish a diagnosis. To communicate effectively with referral agencies, colleagues working with the child, and families, using language appropriate to the recipient and demonstrating the ability to manage sensitive and contentious information. To assess for the most appropriate methods of delivery of clinical intervention, using prioritisation skills and making effective use of available resources. To use clinical reasoning to develop treatment plans and to provide targeted therapy to designated children, monitoring their progress and adapting therapy activities as necessary
