Introduction
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such
as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in
common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or
commercial gain.
JP Medicals has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, and we are committed to acting
ethically and with integrity in our recruitment business and relationships and to implementing and
enforcing effective recruitment systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place
anywhere in our recruitment business.

approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our recruitment business, consistent with our

Duties and responsibilities.
The Company has overall responsibility for ensuring this policy complies with our legal and ethical
obligations, and that all those under our control comply with it.
The Company has primary and day-to-day responsibility for implementing this policy, monitoring its
use and effectiveness, dealing with any queries about it, and auditing internal control systems and
procedures to ensure they are effective in countering modern slavery.
JP Medicals Recruitment at all levels are responsible for ensuring and comply with this policy and are
given adequate and regular training to avoid the issues of modern slavery.
These include:
• confirming the identities of all new employees and their right to legally work in the United
Kingdom and appointing staff subject to references, immigration checks and identity checks. This
ensures that we can be confident, before staff begin employment, that our staff have a legal right
to work in UK
• having a set of values and behaviours that staff are expected to comply with, with all candidates
expected to demonstrate these attributes as part of the recruitment selection process
• adopting the national pay, terms and conditions of service means that we have the assurance that
all staff will be treated fairly and that pay, terms and conditions will comply with the latest
legislation. This includes the assurance that staff received, at least, the National Minimum Wage
from 1 April 2022
• implementing employment policies and procedures designed to provide guidance and advice to
staff to comply with employment legislation.
• committing to creating and ensuring a non-discriminatory and respectful working environment
for our staff, in line with our corporate social responsibilities
• providing a platform for our employees to raise concerns about poor working practices, through
the implementation of policies covering equality, diversity and inclusion; grievance; respect and
dignity at work; and whistleblowing
• ensuring appropriate mechanisms to regularly review and track progress on promoting and
supporting diversity and inclusion as a service provider.
• requiring all staff to undertake mandatory training in relation to diversity and inclusion
Compliance with the policy
The prevention, detection and reporting of modern slavery in any part of our business is the
responsibility of all those working for JP Medicals. JP Medicals required to avoid any activity that
might lead to, or suggest, a breach of this policy.
You must notify Directors as soon as possible if you believe or suspect that a conflict with this policy
has occurred or may occur in the future. You are encouraged to raise concerns about any issue of
suspicion of modern slavery in any parts of our business.
We aim to encourage openness and will support anyone who raises genuine concerns in good faith
under this policy, even if they turn out to be mistaken. We are committed to ensuring no one suffers
any detrimental treatment as a result of reporting in good faith their suspicion that modern slavery
of whatever form is or may be taking place in any part of our business. If you believe that you have
suffered any such treatment, you should inform your directors immediately.
Breaches of this policy
Any employee who breaches this policy will face disciplinary action, which could result in dismissal
for misconduct or gross misconduct.
